Our COVID-19 safety protocols

At Love + Roots, your health and comfort are our top priority. That’s why we’ve put the following safety protocols in place to protect our guests and staff during from COVID-19.

We hope these steps give you the confidence to venture out and treat yourself to some much needed Love + Care. Trust us, we can’t wait for things to go back to normal just as much as you. When they finally do, we promise to celebrate with hugs for everyone. In the meantime, BE KIND to yourself and others, STAY RESILIENT, and keep moving forward with ALL YOUR HEART.

What to expect

Things will work a little differently at your next visit to our salon. In fact, we’ve developed an entirely new client experience in response to COVID-19. We’ve adapted our premises and services to help ensure your comfort and safety at every step, changed the way we take care of our guests to protect their safety, and added many, many new precautionary protocols across our business.

Here are a few things you should know:

  • We’re limiting occupancy in our salon. We hope you’ll visit a local business if you have to wait a few minutes before you come in!
  • All guests must have their temperatures checked before entering.
  • Personal items are limited to bare necessities like your cell phone and car keys. No purses, books, or tablets/kindles. Please leave them in your care.
  • Face masks are required at all times while on salon property.

Occupancy limits

To help slow the spread of COVID-19, we are limiting the number of guests in our salon. For your safety, no more than 10 individuals are allowed in the salon at one time. This includes clients and staff members. No extra guests, please! We’re holding to a ratio of one Client for every service provider. Our front door will remain locked to maintain our occupancy limit.

Cleaning + sanitization

We’re committed to providing a clean and safe experience for everyone. At the beginning of each day, starting at 7am, we sanitize all points of contact throughout the salon. We do this again in the middle of the day, from 2-3pm, and once more after closing the salon at 9pm.

Towels, smocks, and linens are used only one time, per client, and immediately washed/sanitized in hot water + bleach. Once they are dry, we store them in airtight containers for protection.

In addition to following Texas sanitization requirements for salons and spas, we have added an additional 15-30 minutes of sanitizing between each client. Our Service Providers wipe down every surface of contact in between each and every client, every single time. They also change into new PPE gear and wash & sanitize their hands in preparation for their next client.

In order to further protect our clients and our staff, we’ve hired JanPro to clean the salon three times a week, using EnviroShield, which quickly eliminates 99.9% of bacteria and viruses on every exposed surface in the building including salmonella and E. coli, common viruses like the cold and flu, and disinfectant-resistant pathogens like MRSA.

Temperature checks

Both clients and staff are required to have their temperature checked before entering the salon. Clients will be asked to meet a staff member on the front patio for their temperature check before entering and receiving their service.


Face masks are required at all times while on salon property. Our Service Providers will also wear a disposable apron that is changed after every client, plus a standard face mask + face shield at all times.

Service limitations

We’ve temporarily suspended lengthy services to keep exposure to a minimum. Complimentary blowdries are also temporarily suspended, as a preventative measure. This is to keep viral particles from being blown throughout the salon. It was a tough decision, but one we were advised to take seriously in order to provide the safest salon experience

Purchases + payments

Retail items may be purchased at the time of your service by informing your Service Provider of your needs. Though, you may also purchase any hair, skin, and boutique items through the convenience of our online store and select to have them shipped directly to your home (which means more time to shop around with ease!).

We’ve initiated contact-free payment protocols in an effort to reduce the number, and length, of interactions with various people during your salon visit. This means there’s no need to “check out” at the front desk at the completion of your service. Just give your Service Provider an air hug, grab your phone & keys, and head out to your car.

Healing energies

Lastly, we’re diffusing anti-viral essential oils, surrounding our salon with protective crystals, and forging ahead with positive intentions. We have a salon full of socially conscious, heart-centered team members here to serve you.
